                                            AN ATHEIST AND A BEAR 一個無神論者和熊

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that evolution had created. 
一個無神論者散步穿過樹林，欣賞進化所創造的一切。

"What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!", he said to himself. 
... “多麼雄偉的樹木！多麼強大的河流！多麼美麗的動物！”，他對自己說。
As he was walking along the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
他沿著河邊走，他聽到了他身後的灌木叢中沙沙作響。


When he turned to see what the cause was, he saw a 7-foot grizzly charging right towards him.
當他轉過身來看到的原因是什麼，他看到了一隻7英尺的灰熊正衝向他。
He ran as fast as he could.
他儘量快跑。
He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing,
他從他的肩膀看過去，看到熊正在接近。

He ran even faster, crying in fear.
他跑得更快， 恐懼地哭喊著。

He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer.
他又從他的肩膀看過去，熊又更近了。

heart was pounding and he tried to run even faster.
他的心怦怦直跳，他試圖跑得更快。

He tripped and fell on the ground.
他絆倒，倒在地上。

He rolled over to pick himself up, but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left
他翻身爬起來，但他看到熊正在他上方，伸出左爪要抓他，
paw and raising his right paw to strike him.
並舉起右爪要打他。
At that moment, the Atheist cried out "Oh my God!...."
在那一刻，這個無神論者喊了出來：“哦，我的上帝！...... “。

Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. Even the river stopped moving.
時間停止了。 熊愣住了。 森林靜默。甚至連河流都停止流動。

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky,
那時一束宿明亮的光線照在該名男子身上，天空傳來一個聲音，“

"You deny my existence for all of these years; teach others I don''''t exist;
所有這些年來你否認我的存在;教導別人說我不存在，

and even credit creation to a cosmic accident.
甚至是邊造宇宙的事故，

Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"
你指望我幫你走出這種困境？我能算你為一個信徒？

The atheist looked directly into the light,
這個無神論者注視著那束光

"It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as Christian now,
“這將是虛偽的, 我突然要求你現在把我當作基督教，

but perhaps could you make the bear a Christian?"
但也許你可以讓熊成為一個基督徒嗎？“

"Very well," said the voice. The light went out.
“很好，”那聲音說。 那束光就消失了。

The river ran again. And the sounds of the forest resumed.
那條河又開始流動了。森林又恢復了聲音，

And then the bear dropped his right paw ..... brought both paws together...
然後熊放下了他的右爪 ..... 把了兩個爪子放在一起.....

bowed his head and spoke: "Lord, for this food which I am about to receive, I am truly thankful."
低下頭說 ：“主啊，我即將得到這種食物，我真的很感謝。”
